Resources for Muscle Pain

Jun 24, 2021 | Health Tips, Natural Body Care

Greetings friends and family!  We hope that you are taking the time to slow down as much as possible and that you are not getting too caught up in the hustle/bustle.  This week’s tip will hopefully bring you some resources for muscle pain and aches in case you need it! Let’s get started…

Muscle Soreness

There are many reasons why you might be experiencing sore muscles.  This could be due to overexertion from exercise, inflammation, injury, or maybe from a cold or flu.  Luckily, we have some effective solutions!

Preventing Muscle Pain and Strain

There are many things you can do to protect your muscles and improve the over-all health of them.  Muscles love protein!  Making sure you get adequate protein in your diet is key– especially if you are active and work out a lot.  This may not be new information for you, but maybe someone out there needed to hear it!  Simple ways to nurture your muscles are by eating a hand full of nuts (almonds are great) or drink a protein shake prior to working out– allow time to digest before you fire the muscles up.  You can also do this after a work out and after you re-hydrate.  Water is equally important– especially water with electrolytes.  Muscles especially need these minerals– Magnesium, Calcium, and Potassium.

Another helpful tool is CBD, the extract from hemp that helps ease pain.  We just brought in a new topical CBD product that is great for using prior to any vigorous activity, which can help activate the muscles prior to your workout.

Doing a small amount of stretches upon waking can be highly beneficial as well.  Most people get up out of bed and go!  But our furry pet friends always stretch and shake upon waking!  Let’s learn from them and prepare our bodies for a full day of movement with a few helpful stretches and maybe a good shake after waking up!

Assisting Muscle Pain and Strain

Alright, what do you do when your muscles are yelling at you in pain and strain?  One of our favorite methods to relieve muscle soreness is to take a bath with magnesium flakes.  This can help with all types of muscle soreness– from sickness or over exertion.  Add wintergreen essential oil or lavender essential oil for added relaxation benefits!  You can also take magnesium internally to help naturally relax your muscles.

We also have a new topical CBD product for AFTER you work out to help muscle recovery.  We have a customer that raves about this product!

Another fantastic way to help the muscles release soreness is by foam rolling.  This is one of the best tools to have for the body.  You can find them online or at local stores like Target.  We like the soft smooth foam rollers, which will give you the support you need and will be easier on the muscles.  There are harder foam rollers available and some will have different types of texture that will yield a more invigorating feel to the muscles (if desired).  This is a great way to release the fascia tissue, which can also be the culprit for muscle aches and pain.

We hope that you enjoyed the last TIP of the year and discovered new resources for muscle pain!!! We enjoy sharing the health blogs to you weekly!  We will pick back up in 2020! WOW! 2020!  Cheers!

As always, do what you feel is best for YOUR body — if you aren’t sure, ask your doctor.  We are health ENTHUSIASTS not licensed practitioners.
