The Root Chakra and the Health of Your Energy Body!

Jun 7, 2020 | Bone Health, Chakras, Energy, Health Tips

Hello dear friends.  The tension is continuing to rise in our communities.  Some people feel hopeless, saddened, dis-empowered, confused, ANGRY, the list goes on.  We thought this might be a good time to talk about the energy field in your body beginning with the Root Chakra.  Why?  Because it is very important that we keep the energy in our body STRONG, HEALTHY, and FLOWING!

Another reason we’d like to talk about the energy field of the body is because we are in a crucial time that requires us to ALL to identify our role or responsibility in all this chaos.  Chaos needs order, they balance each other out.  If you define your role during a time that seems unmanageable, you can empower yourself and form a plan that can help you feel you’re making a POSITIVE difference in your own life and the lives of everyone around you. This is where positive light-filled order is born.

Our role is to help equip you with alternatives to live healthier more LIGHT filled lives. That’s why we are excited to talk about the seven major chakras (the energy body), starting with the ROOT chakra.

Did you know this invisible energy field within the body can actually be felt within and around the body?  This field governs how we feel, the health of our body, how we interact with one another, and also the health of those around us.  This may not be proven by science, but if you understand that the earth has an energy field as well, it may help you consider that YOU TOO have an energy field that governs your body.

Chakras

Chakras (Sanskrit for wheel or cycle) are energetic centers that are located in the mid-line of the body along the spinal column.  These energy centers are derived from eastern philosophies such as Hinduism and Buddhism.  They govern the subtle body which is affected by the mind, intellect, and ego.  Chakras may become blocked or imbalanced due to negative life experiences, emotions or thoughts.  All of these negative energies can throw off the subtle body.  According to this eastern philosophy, blockages can have a negative effect on the physical or emotional body and can cause physical/emotional ailments or dis-ease.  Each chakra is associated with a specific area of the body, specific organs, and specific feelings/emotions.  They each have a different color that they are associated with.  The first chakra is the ROOT CHAKRA.

Root Chakra (Muladhara)

The root chakra is located at the base of the spine.  The Sanskrit name for this chakra is Muladhara, which means base, root, or foundation.  It is the chakra that connects and grounds us in our environment and in our lives. Our Root Chakra is linked to basic survival needs — from nourishment to emotional and physical security.  Therefore, this chakra is the foundation of your mental and emotional health. It connects us to our traditional familial beliefs, and it supports the formation of your identity and sense of belonging in a group.

The Root chakra can also be associated to the heart chakra. It is also associated to the relationship we have with our Source/God/Creator as well as our relationship with money.  When the Root Chakra is in balance, you will have a sensation of belonging, safety, and vitality.  You feel grounded, full of life and energy.  When the root chakra is blocked or deficient you may have a sensation of weakness, lack of self confidence, a feeling of unworthy-ness, powerlessness, or of being generally unsafe.  If Root Chakra has excessive energy the ego will tend to lead.  This could lead to greed, self-destructive behaviors, addiction to possessions or wealth.

Characteristics of the Root Chakra

Color Association: Red

Action: Get grounded – get out in nature, long deep breaths, deep stretching.

Mantras: 1) I am safe.  2) I am grounded.  3) I am protected.   4)  I AM.

Organs Associated with the Root chakra: Base of spine, legs, bones, feet, rectum, immune system

Health Effects: Chronic lower back pain, rectal and immune disorders, depression, obsessive thoughts /feelings, addictive behavior, sciatica (nerve pain rushing from your behind to all the way down your leg).

Issues: Physical family and group safety and security, ability to provide for life’s necessities and stand up for yourself, not feeling at home, social and familial dysfunction, abandonment fears/issues, lost sense of self/identity.

Supplements for The Root Chakra:

Root Chakra Tea –  This is a smooth grounding tea with the following herbs:  Red Raspberry Leaf, Clove, Hibiscus Flower, and Ashwagandha.  There is a nice breakdown for each herb and the association to the chakras here.

Beet Crystals – Beets provide natural nitric oxide that will help stimulate blood flow to the entire body, helps boost stamina, and strength in the root chakra.

Red Mineral Algae – Red Mineral Algae is a calcium supplement that can strengthen the bones for physical strength and root chakra support.

Vitamin D3 and K2 – This vitamin is great for for the root chakra by also supporting bone health that will help cultivate a strong foundation and enhance vitality.

The Root Chakra sets the base/pace of all the chakras that follow after.  Right now is a great time to tune into your body.  Try to build a meditation or prayer practice so that you are feeling grounded during this time.  You can listen to this relaxing Root Chakra guided meditation if you need help with relaxing or feeling safe.  When we balance ourselves from within, our environment will inevitably rise up to meet us.  It always starts within.

Keep your hearts up friends, everything is always happening for our greater good.  We live in a beautiful world that has a funny way of always keeping us growing and expanding.  Another good root mantra:  I have everything I need to survive and thrive!

As always, do what you feel is best for YOUR body — if you aren’t sure, ask your doctor.  We are health ENTHUSIASTS not licensed practitioners.
